College football rankings are a very discussed thing among people especially towards the end of the season to see what teams make it to the playoffs. A lot goes into ranking college football teams such as there win/loss record and there conference. there conference plays a major role in ranking them because there is more competition in some conferences than others. The hardest conference in college football is the SEC, which is where teams such as Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and etc play. Currently Alabama is ranked 2nd in the nation in the past couple years they have one a couple championships and been to the championship game more and lost.
Currently in the college football standings an unusual team has made an appearance that team is Iowa. they play in the big 10 conference and our undefeated. Iowa is ranked 5th at the moment only 4 teams can make it to the playoffs, therefore they are fighting for a chance to make it there. Iowa has an easier schedule than the higher ranked teams because they play in a conference where the competition just isn't as good. The playing styles of the different conferences is completely different most teams on the coast and the south play with a more fast pace team and out good at scoring. Conference in the north and the Middle of the country typically play a more hard knock slow pace game, they also focus more on defense.
I think that the standings will change again throughout the season because big upsets happen all the time, but I do think that Alabama will win it all and I also think that Iowa will not finish this high in the standings. I think this about Iowa because they play in a bad conference and once they go to a bowl game and play a good team they will get out played and lose. College football is just very unpredictable and anything can happen that's what's exciting about it.
